our story
Eden Christian Academy began in 2004 out of concern that our children attending the local schools were being overlooked academically. We realized that many of our children were failing to achieve 50 percent of a given subject; however, were advancing to the next grade because the schools did not have the capacity to resolve a child’s educational challenges. It was important that children were equipped to achieve the recommended educational standards that would prepare them for functional life in society. Through Eden Christian Academy, we have witnessed children flourishing in this environment.
In the past several years, the local government has resolved this problem, and we feel more confident to send children to government schools. We also continue to improve and correct the gaps in education children experienced while in compromised living conditions.

“This school, small as it may be, is going to impact the nation of Zimbabwe in Jesus’ name. Future lawyers, politicians, pastors, legislators, mothers, fathers and famers will be raised up and lovingly instructed in the ways of God. Join us making an eternal impact in these tremendous young lives.”

Vocational Education
Many of the young people who come to us have incredibly immense obstacles to overcome to achieve even a 7th grade education. For many students, graduation from High School and success in University just isn’t a possiblity or a dream that they desire. We don’t see that reality as failure at all and encourage each child to achieve absolutely as high as they can, and even a little further before we allow them to switch to the vocational track.
The aim of this track is to prepare any child who has no ambition for tertiary education to prepare for adult life by acquiring real life, practical skills to render them capable and desireable in the competative job market of Zimbabwe. Our students learn sewing, mechanics, metal working, wood working, construction or agriculture as a means to prepare for adult life on their own. We dream of building our own fully recognized vocational school in the near future. If this dream that God has put on our hearts resonates with what God is doing in your heart, join us in building the Eden Ministries Vocational Educational Centre (we use British English in Zimbabwe, that’s not a typo).

One of the most heartwarming stories we've had the privilege of being a part of is Tinashe's journey. Arriving at Eden at a tender age, Tinashe hadn't experienced the comforting embrace of a mother or the reassuring presence of a father. He was burdened with a sense of hopelessness and despair, compounded by malnutrition and illness. Through the grace and power of God, he found healing for most of his ailments and was given the opportunity to pursue an education.
Under the loving care of Baba and Mai Mafiro, a compassionate couple, Tinashe not only overcame his challenging start but excelled in his studies, despite being significantly behind. Last year, he accomplished a remarkable feat by completing his degree at Liberty University. With the support of numerous generous believers, we were able to facilitate his journey to Kenya for an attachment, where he successfully concluded his studies.
During his time in Kenya, Tinashe not only completed his academic pursuits but also became a source of inspiration for others. He shared his story and imparted valuable lessons to younger children, illustrating the transformative power of faith and resilience. Witnessing God turning a seemingly chaotic situation into a powerful testimony is truly awe-inspiring.
